How to redeem an offer code
On iOS devices
Offer codes can be redeemed directly in the CHANI app by clicking any of the premium content areas, such as Transits, and clicking on the pink ‘Redeem an Offer Code’ button at the bottom of the paywall page. You will then type in your unique code into the redemption pop-up after reading the terms and conditions.
Once you have typed in your code, tap 'return' on your keyboard. If successful, you will see a confirmation pop-up.
On Android devices
For new users only (i.e. users who have never used a trial before, or paid for a subscription), offer codes can be redeemed directly in the CHANI app by clicking any of the premium content areas, such as Transits, and clicking on the pink ‘Redeem an Offer Code’ button at the bottom of the paywall page. You will then type in your unique code into the redemption pop-up after reading the terms and conditions.
For new and expired users, to claim your offer in the CHANI app by following these steps:
- Open the CHANI app.
- Select the Menu (the three lines) in the top right corner.
- Select Account Settings.
- Look for “Subscription Status” and tap “Subscribe.”
- Choose the option that shows the promotion (your options will be "Monthly" or "Annual").
- A checkmark will appear in the little black circle.
- Scroll down to "Get Full Access", and select this button.
- This will take you to the Google Play store to complete the transaction.

Offer code not working
Please note that offer codes cannot be redeemed by current subscribers in the CHANI app. If, after following the How to redeem an offer code steps instructions, you are still unable to successfully redeem the offer code, please email us a screenshot of the offer code with the email address associated with your CHANI user account so we can look further into the issue.

Offer code redemption connection error
The offer code redemption area is controlled directly by the App Store for iOS users or Google Play for Android users. If you are seeing a 'connection' message, please reach out to Apple's or Google’s customer support page and ask for assistance in resolving this issue between the store and your account.
We also recommend, confirming that your payment method is up-to-date. Although this is a free trial offer, Apple or Google may require your account to have valid payment info in order to use trial offer codes because they use in-app purchase technology. In addition to this, we recommend making sure there aren't any restrictions on purchases or in-app features set up in your operating system. You can also try to use the code on a different device to see if it resolves the issue.
Premium content not showing after redeeming offer code
If you've followed the steps to redeem the promotion, and you're not seeing the premium content in the CHANI app, please follow these steps to restore your access:
- Open the Account Settings page from the app menu (≡)
- Select the SUBSCRIBE button
- Find and select the link at the bottom of the paywall that says, "Restore My Purchase"
This will trigger the CHANI app to reconnect to your Apple or Google ID and unlock your access to the premium content.

International use
If you are outside the USA, it is also important to note that the app stores will convert the currency values of your purchase to your region based on their own calculations, which may differ significantly from the exchange rate your bank is offering on any given day. In these automatic currency conversions, you may also find a digital services sales tax for the country associated with your Apple ID or Google Account.
