Astrology is for everyone. Seeking ways to continually improve accessibility is a top priority for us. Our development team is currently building out support for dynamic type, font size, and spoken content enhancements as well as in-app transcripts for audio content.
CHANI app (iOS)
The transcript for each piece of audio content is located on the audio player page for the respective meditation, reading, or affirmation. Below the audio controls, there is a button that says “Open Transcript.” If you click on it, a pop-up containing the transcript for the content you’re listening to will appear. You can close the transcript by swiping downward, starting at the top of the pop-up.
If you do not see an “Open Transcript” button, you will need to update to the latest version of the app. We also recommend enabling automatic app updates to make sure that you gain access to new and upcoming features.
For those who tune in to Chani’s Week Ahead podcast via third-party streaming platforms, you can find transcripts for current and past episodes here.
Additionally, transcripts are also available upon request for our Astro Workshop Membership and Year Ahead workshops.
Other Accessibility features
Currently the CHANI app (iOS) supports VoiceOver, Text Size, and Zoom, all of which are accessibility features native to your Apple device. Our development team is building out support for dynamic type, font size, and Apple’s Spoken Content feature.
We recommend using Apple’s Accessibility features, such as Text Size and Zoom for a closer, magnified look at your texts and chart. For users that require text-to-speech functionality, the CHANI app is designed to work with Apple's built-in screen reader software VoiceOver.
To adjust your text size, go to your phone Settings and click on “Accessibility” followed by “Display & Text Size” and “Larger Text.” Once there, adjust the sliding controls to best meet your needs.
To adjust your zoom, go to your phone Settings and click on “Accessibility” followed by “Zoom” and moving the slider to the on position. Next, set the Zoom region to Window Zoom and adjust the controls to best meet your needs.
If you want to use VoiceOver, you can turn it on by asking Siri or navigating to your phone Settings and clicking on “Accessibility” followed by “VoiceOver” and moving the slider to the on position. Navigating the CHANI app with VoiceOver on will change the gestures you use to control your iPhone. If you need further support, this tutorial explains how to navigate your iPhone when VoiceOver is active.
If you experience difficulties using the CHANI app with any of these accessibility features, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot.
