Seeking ways to continually improve accessibility is a top priority for us. Our development team is currently building out support for dynamic type, font size, and spoken content enhancements as well as in-app transcripts for audio content.
Transcripts
The transcript for each piece of audio content is located on the audio player page for that meditation / reading / affirmation. Right below the audio controls you will see a button that says “Open Transcript” if you click on it a pop-up containing the transcript of the content you are listening to will appear. You can dismiss the transcript by swiping downwards starting at the top of the pop-up.
If you do not see an “Open Transcript” button, you will need to update to the latest version of the app. We also recommend enabling automatic app updates to make sure you get access to upcoming new features.
Accessibility features
We recommend using Apple’s Accessibility features such as Text Size and Zoom for a closer, magnified look at our text and chart. For users that require text to speech functionality, the CHANI app is designed to work with Apple's built-in screen reader software VoiceOver.
Text size
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text and adjust the sliding controls to best meet your needs.
VoiceOver
If you want to use VoiceOver can turn it on by asking Siri or by navigating to Settings> Accessibility > VoiceOver and moving the slider to on. Navigating the CHANI app with VoiceOver on will change the gestures you use to control your iPhone. This tutorial explains how to navigate your iPhone when VoiceOver is active.
Zoom
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Zoom, then turn on Zoom followed by > Zoom Region> ‘Window Zoom’ and adjust the controls to best meet your needs.
If you experience difficulties using the CHANI app with any of these accessibility features, please reach out to us at info@chaninicholas.com, and we will be happy to help you troubleshoot.
