If your rising sign looks “off” in the CHANI app or on our website's free birth chart tool, or your planets are in different houses than you’re used to, there are a few possible answers:
It’s not showing my sun sign content
We intentionally provide you with rising sign content because it's your rising sign that determines the areas of your life that the astrology is impacting. In other words, it is the primary content. Sun is secondary. Your moon is tertiary. However, we've heard from a number of customers that they would like access to their sun sign content as well, and we are working on adding this in future versions of the app.
My houses look off
You may be used to seeing your chart under other house systems. The differences you noticed are probably the result of us using whole sign houses - you might be used to your chart being read in Placidus houses which alters the houses that certain planets are in. Whole sign houses is an ancient technique that takes the view that one sign = one house. Neither house system is wrong or more accurate. They are just different systems of thought.
The CHANI app is based on whole sign houses. However, if you visit the free chart tool on our website, you can re-enter your birth information and select "Placidus" under house system to view your chart using Placidus.
My rising sign is wrong
If you go to Account Settings, change your birth info to something else and save. Let the app reopen, and then go back to Account Settings and put in your correct birth info and save. It should pull you up the correct chart.
If none of the above account for the discrepancy, we anticipate that this is the result of our software not recognizing daylight savings time (DST) in your town the year you were born. Usually, adjusting your birth time forward one hour rectifies this, but please email us and include your time, date and location of birth. We will work with you to rectify this as soon as possible.
